Amateur radio has been around for over one hundred years - providing a hobby for enthusiasts and an essential means of communications during times of emergencies. Several family members are included in this fraternity of specialized operators. Below are some who are listed in the Amateur Website, www.QRZ.com. There may be others of various surnames as well who are not shown here and it we have missed them, our sincere apologies. Please send their names and calls if you would like them listed. Since there are several McBrayer/Brier "hams" around the country, what about establishing a "McBrayer Net" on one of the amateur bands? WA5JDV, Carl B. McBrayer, 412 Char Lane, Midwest City, OK, 73110, 405-732-1757 - Operates on the frequency of 14.332 Mhz (the YLISSB System, www.ylsystem.org ) most days from 0800 CST. It you don't find me there try 7218 Khz until 0900 CST. Also periodically on EchoLink - a computer to computer system for 'ham' operators. EchoLink can be downloaded free from http://www.echolink.org/. With this program you can contact hams around the world - all without the necessity of a radio station.
