Billy Eugene McBrayer

1929-2010


MCBRAYER, BILLY EUGENE, passed away January 4, 2010. He graduated from Jones Valley High School class of 1947, a Korean War veteran, a member of Springville First United Methodist Church and a longtime member of West End Baptist Church. He enjoyed square dancing for many years with the Birmingham Solos, Eastern Wranglers, Kurly Q's, and Logan Martin Swingers, Campers and Dancers. He was retired from US Steel with 42 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mamie and Herman McBrayer.

Services will be Thursday, January 7 at 2pm in the Chapel with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be from 5 until 7pm Wednesday.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Verlie McBrayer; children, Richard E. "Ricky" (Donna) McBrayer, Thomas A. "Tommy" (Tamara) McBrayer, Donald F. "Don" (Autumn) McBrayer, Pamela McBrayer (Ramón) Arias; grandchildren, Staci Butler, Kevin McBrayer, Brooke and Jason Johnson, Brent and Jennifer McBrayer, Matthew Arias, Christopher Arias, Daniel Bahkle, Bruce Bahkle, Ben McBrayer, and Hannah McBrayer; great grandchildren, Madison Johnson, Rylie Johnson, Derrick Butler, Isabella Butler, and Colton McBrayer; stepchildren, Jim Hyatt, John and Susan Hyatt; and step-grandchildren, Michael Hyatt, Hayden Hyatt, and Kirsten Hyatt.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Springville First United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
