Early Scottish Deaths/Burials

For those of your who might be intersted in the early Scottish family records...........

Sandy Pittendreigh of Dumfries, Scotland, a volunteer with the Dumfries and Galloway Family History Society Archives, recently contacted me with some very useful information on the ancient Scottish family in and around the Dumfries area. She had been tasked with the duty of transcribng many of the tombstones and Parish records of death and burial for various surnames and compiling them. Although she is not particularily researching the McBrair name she felt that I might be interested in some of the older records she had uncovered. Among those listed included family members from the St. Michaels Parish Churchyard cemetery, the Caerlaverock Churchyard and the Greenhead Cemetery in Thornhill, Dumfriesshire. Our sincere thanks to Sandy for all her help and for providing this most useful information.
