Edgar Francis "Ike" King

EDGAR "IKE" KING, age 89, of Gary, IN passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011. He is survived by his two daughters: Karen (Ronald) Dubish of Florida and Bonnie (Paul) Patchett of Lowell; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters: Garnett (Dick) Sherman and Kate (Beck) Beckley both of California. Mr. King was preceded in death by his wife June in 1994. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN with Shawn Cornett, Minister officiating. Interment will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. King was a member of the Griffith Izaak Walton League. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a former member of the Griffith VFW Post #9982. He retired from Standard Forge.
