Linda Ruth McBrayer Ohmer

1953-2011


OHMER, Linda R. (McBrayer) of the North Lake and Millington Michigan areas formerly of Columbus Ohio passed away early Friday morning April 29, 2011, Linda was 57. Linda leaves to cherish many wonderful memories her children; daughter Stacey Ohmer, son Christopher Ohmer, her mother Mrs. Betty J. McBrayer, as well nieces, nephews, great niece, three brothers, other extended family and many friends. To leave your personal condolences, share a memory, or light a memory candle go to hanlinfuneralhome.com Linda's family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and also an hour prior to the funeral services on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 3, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hanlin Funeral Home, with the burial to follow at the Watertown Twp. Cemetery in Fostoria MI. If one wishes to give a gift of remembrance the gift can be directed to the family for a scholarship fund to be established at a later date.

Linda Ohmer, 57, passed away on Friday, April 29th in her home at North Lake, Michigan. Linda was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 1st, 1953 to Roy and Betty McBrayer. She graduated from Ohio State University and moved to Michigan to start her teaching career. Linda taught science at Millington High School. She then attended Saginaw Valley State University obtaining a counseling certification. She went on to work as a guidance counselor at Mayville Community Schools, where she finished her career. Linda married Gerald Ohmer on November 6th, 1982. She enjoyed camping, reading, gardening, and traveling with her family. She was a passionate counselor, a loving wife and mother, and touched the lives of many. She is survived by her children, Chris and Stacey Ohmer, her mother, Betty McBrayer, three brothers, many loving family members in Mid-Michigan and Columbus, Ohio, and numerous caring friends. Those desiring may make donations to the “Linda Ohmer Scholarship Fund” at Mayville Community Schools to honor her memory. Contributions may be sent to the family for this scholarship to be established at a later date.
