Margaret L. "Louise" Hunt

DUMAS - Margaret L. "Louise" Hunt, 81, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, in Canadian.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Northlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Rick Korsmo, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.

Louise was born Sept. 4, 1928, in Haworth, Okla., to William L. and Lydia J. McBrayer. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, in Canadian.

She married Thomas Hunt on June 9, 1944, at Santa Ana, Calif. He preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 1994.

She was an Avon representative at Dumas and Sunray for several years. She also worked in the Dumas and Sunray school cafeterias.

Louise had been a resident of Dumas since 1952 before moving to Canadian three months ago. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed her time teaching Sunday school and serving others.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Larry Joe Hunt, in June 8, 1981.

Survivors include a daughter, Geneva Batten and husband Clois of Camas, Wash; a son, Gary Hunt and wife Debbie of Canadian; two grandsons, Tom Batten and wife Shelley of Washougal, Wash., and Donny Hunt of Pampa; two granddaughters, Mistalyn Batten of Washougal and Amy Pierce and husband Tim of Canadian; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; a brother, Paul McBrayer and wife Celia of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggest memorials be to Canadian Hospice, 1020 W. Fourth St., Canadian, TX 79014; or to a hospice of your choice.
