Merle Oswalt (Mrs. R.A.) McBrayer

Mrs. Robert  Avery "Merle" McBrayer was born on June 8, 1922, in Killeen, Texas to C. Smith Oswalt and Ophelia Elizabeth Cockrell.She passed away on September 14, 2010, in Victoria, Texas.

Mrs. McBrayer was a resident of Mesquite, Texas for most of her life, where she was a waitress. She spent her life in the service of others.

Mrs. McBrayer is preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. McBrayer.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Boozer of Kaufman; sister, Bernice Gibbs of Killeen; granddaughter Becky Ashley and husband Phil of Victoria; granddaughter Donna Furgason and husband Forrest of Combine; grandson Oliver Boozer and wife Sandy of Rosser; granddaughter Kathy Acevedo and husband Manuel of Kaufman; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. There is comfort in knowing that our Lord has taken her home.

A memorial will be held at 10 a.m. September 25 at Calvary Baptist Church in Seagoville, 1204 N. Highway 175, Seagoville, TX 75159. Officiated by Chris Ricketts.
