TIFTON - Olive Cleo Stowers McBrayer, 92, of Tifton, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. Larry Layfield officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.

Mike McBrayer, Larry McBrayer, Robert McBrayer, Richard Windham and Ernest Mann will serve as pallbearers.

Born Sept. 7, 1917, in Tift County to the late Thomas Atlas Stowers and Martha Whiddon Stowers, Mrs. McBrayer was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Alfred McBrayer, who died in 1993; one brother; and six sisters.

Mrs. McBrayer, a lifetime resident of Tift County, graduated from Tifton High School. She was a homemaker and also worked for many years in the lunchrooms at Chula Consolidated School, Northside Elementary School, and Charles Spencer Elementary School. Mrs. McBrayer was a member of Northside Baptist Church, and for many years was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Chula. She also was a member of the 5-C Club.

Mrs. McBrayer is survived by her daughter, Linda Cheryl St. John of Tifton; a grandson, Christopher Chad Young of Tifton; and two great-grandchildren, Briana Young and Austin Young.
