Through the years I have made every attempt to keep our family informed on the family records and in addition to the In Defiance newsletter, I have published several books on the genealogy of the family. The last of these books, In Defiance - The MacBraire Heritage 1735-1998, was published in 1998 and contained 973 pages. Since that time the files/records have grown so large that to print a book now - that would contain all the records, plus the index - one would have a 3000 page plus volume. This would be much too large to handle, and to break down the information into several volumes would be a monstrous task to say the least. It would also be rather confusing to follow the lines and heritage.

Therefore a decision has been made to provide individual heritage/lineage books upon request. This type book, although not containing everything about the entire family, would cover the complete lineage for a particular person back to the immigrating ancestor and would contain what pictures I have on individuals and would be fully indexed. It could be bound, at your choice, as any other book and would make a wonderful family heirloom and keepsake.

To obtain a copy for yourself just send me an email at carl5@cox.net or carlmcbrayer@yahoo.com with your request, providing me your name and your parents (to insure I have the right person). I can usually have this ready for you in a matter of hours and will immediately email it to you. (Sorry - no USPS)

I only ask two things in return:

(1) PLEASE let me know when you receive your copy. Sometimes I send out books and they are never received by the recipient. I need to know you received your copy, and

(2) Once you have looked over your copy - PLEASE send me any corrections and any information you can provide to update the lineage. I need your help with names, birth dates, marriage dates of any aunts, uncles, cousins, wives, children, etc. It is important to maintain the archives for future generations and only you can help in many instances.  I can also use any photos or pictures youmight want to share of yourself and any relatives. These pictures are captioned and saved in the photo gallery and none of any living person will ever be posted on the family website - only deceased relatives are posted.
