Sandra Cauble McBrayer1943-2011 HICKORY Sandra Cauble McBrayer, 68, died of cancer Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at the home of her sister, Pat White, in Raleigh. She was born in Hickory, the daughter of R. LaMonte and Frances Shuford Cauble. Following her studies at Appalachian College in Boone and her marriage, she owned a child care center. Later, she supervised housekeeping in hospitals in Dalton and Atlanta, Ga., and, in 1995, became editor of the Hospital Blue Book for Billian Publishing of Atlanta. Sandra is survived by her sisters, Patricia C. White of Raleigh and Lynne C. Betts (Dr. C.W.) of West End; son, Thomas L. McBrayer, III; daughter, Heather M. Kim (Daniel); and granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Natalie Kim of Wake Forest. A memorial service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of Wake County or the American Institute of Cancer Research. Bass-Smith Funeral Home in Hickory is in charge of local arrangements.
