Shirley Ann Edwards White

Shirley Ann Edwards White, 71, of Dallas, passed away Wed., March 23, 2011, at the Presbyterian Village North Nursing Home in Dallas, surrounded by family and caregivers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tues., March 29, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Shirley was born Aug. 27, 1939 in McCaskill, Arkansas, to parents; Bill Edwards and Ester McBrayer, and was proud of her childhood in Hope, Arkansas. After graduation she moved to Houston where she met her husband, Vaughn Patrick White and worked as a key punch operator at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston for twenty years. She retired to Dayton and lived there for twenty years. She will be remembered for her love of nature and all God's creatures big and small. Her gentle spirit and kindness deeply touched her family and all that knew her.

Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband: Vaughn Patrick White and her parents Ester McBrayer Jordan and Bill Edwards. She is survived by sister-in-law: Linda McClain Kaps of Dayton, niece: Cheryl Bradford and husband Robin of Dallas, nephew: Vaughn McClain and wife Kay of Killeen, great niece and nephew which she called her grandchildren: Sophie and James McClain Bradford of Dallas, her beloved dog: Max, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Her family is grateful for the loving care given by her caregivers, Tessa Sterling, Teresa Dewar, Charmaine, Regina and Trisha.
